CJPRSC-FARP ACTIVITY (RAPID REFUELLING OPS)
Following the results achieved during VOLCANEX 09, the EAG proposed the way ahead to improve interoperability in the Fuel area, such as dr
afting common EAG SOPs and/or a Technical Arrangement for Fuel activities. The EAG agreed with Nations to conduct a specific activity on Hot Refuelling integrated in the Combined Joint Personnel Recovery Course (CJPRSC), which was conducted in Germany in September 2010. This course provided an excellent opportunity for Rapid Refuelling trials with the participation of 12 Rotary Wing assets over 8 flying days; three Nations (GBR, ITA and NLD) committed personnel and FARP assets (with the HN support provided by DEU). For the first time, EAG combined teams operated together testing common procedures and delivering real support to the CJPR players. Notwithstanding that so
me flying and refuelling activity were cancelled due to poor weather conditions, the FARP teams delivered 31 HOT/COLD tactical refuels. As a consequence of the activity, important interoperability goals were achieved and relevant lessons were identified to be included in the EAG SOPs.
