DMAW
The DMAW project has been initiated at the request of the nations to improve effectiveness and efficiency of deployed operations. In itself it does not establish a standing force or forces kept at high readiness.
Its aim is to provide planning and support tools as well as framework arrangements to enable the establishment of a DMAW. It focuses on:
- simplifying the multinational planning process
- minimizing the deployed footprint;
- minimizing the deployed footprint;
- minimizing the requirement for strategic transport;
- maximizing the utility of deployed resources: in order to meet the operational task at least risk to personnel, equipment and cost.
DMAW is an entity operating at the tactical level of air operations, composed of force contributions from two or more Nations, tailored to a specific mission/task, and consisting of up to three squadrons or equivalent units, dealing with single or multiple weapon platforms and including combat service support and base support elements.The EAG coordinates its activities with those of NATO/EU/nations to ensure no duplication of effort. The intent is to coordinate trials and validate the format of the DMAW in exercises in 2010 in which at least 2 DMAW products are involved.
