CIS
The CIS area is constantly commited in enhancing the capability of the seven Nations to operate together in order to set up, whenever required, a MN CIS architecture in which the respective systems and equipment are perfectly integrated. Doing so in real operations would allow a most effective sharing of expensive national CIS assets (SATCOM for instance), thus reducing the footprint or each Nation in the field.
The full range of CIS activities encompasses :
- CIS Meetings : in which policy issues are discussed;
- Bench tests and technical meetings : to perform interoperability tests and share information;
- Volcanex exercises : aimed to set up a MN CIS architecture in an operational scenario;
- Manual and SOPs : to be used by both planners and final users;
- Other activities such as : seminars, participation as observers at NATO CIS exercises and so on.
