EUROVOX

Aim
The initial purpose was to interconnect the seven military telephone networks using cross border links and PABX interoperability capabilities and to allow the EAG nations to make international service phone calls at no charge, thus facilitating contacts between EAG air forces and permitting budget economies.
Nowadays, EUROVOX offers a permanent voice exchange for the benefit of the seven nations, using existing military networks and interfaces between those networks.
The main objectives are:
- regarding to bilateral agreements, allow direct communications between non-neighbouring countries;
- use common dialling principles;
- provide a Multinational Phone Book (MTB) to each nation.

This manual describes the global architecture of the EUROVOX network, reminds the specific numbering plan and is composed of seven restricted sections, each of them providing a National directory (Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Netherlands, Spain and the United Kingdom).
Because of its classification, the manual is to be requested to the CIS area of the EAG CIS Area. The details of the originator of the request must be included along with the rational behind it.
