Brig Gen Patrice Laurent was born in Liege on the 3rd of May 1958.

  • 1974 : Royal Cadets School at Laeken.
  • 1977 :  Royal Military Academy (ERM) (132nd Polytechnic course)
  • 1982 : graduate Master of Science in Engineering.
  • 1983 to 1984 :  Flying training (SF260 MARCHETTI/AJET)
  • 1985 : conversion on Mirage V (8th Squadron – 3 Tactical Wing –  Bierset Air Base).
  • Aug 1985 to 1987 : Mir V at  2nd Squadron – 2 Tactical Wing – Florennes Air Base)
  • 1988 : F16 conversion (Operational Conversion Unit at Beauvechain Air Base)
  • September 1989 : Staff courses at Superior Royal Institute of Defence (IRSD)
  • June 1990 : Operation Officer on F16 at 2d Sqn (Florennes Air Base) – Force Leader
  • 1991 : Promoted Major
  • 1992 : Planning Division of the Air Force Headquarters (VSP/E).
  • Sep 1993 : Defence College (IRSD).  Headquarters certificate (psc) in June 1994.
  • Oct 1994 : Commander 11 SQN at Sint Truiden Air Base after Instructor conversion on Alpha-Jet
  • Dec 1996 : project officer in operational computing within the Air Force Headquarters (VS3 / BOSA project) where he set up the “Squadrons Operational Support Automated Data Processing”
  • 1998 : Promoted Lieutenant-Colonel.
  • Oct 1998 : Military teacher at the Staff College (IRSD) and  Air “Official” at the Royal Military Academy (ERM).
  • Sep 2001 : Group Commander of the 1st Wing (Beauvechain Air Base)
  • Sep 2003 : Royal Military Academy “Air Department” to integrate the pilots (ATPL) and ATC’s  (Eurocontrol Common Core content) into the academic programs (Bachelors/Masters).
  • 2005 : promoted Colonel.
  • December 2006 : Director of the new Competence Centre of the Air Component (CC Air) at Beauvechain, while continuing his work at the ERM.
  • May 2007 : Beauvechain Air Base Commander (1st Wing) while continuing as Director of  the Competency Centre
  • July 2010 : Promoted Brigadier General and posted as Deputy Director of the European Air Group.

BGen P. LAURENT is divorced and has 2 children (Tanguy 1985 and Alicia 1988)
