JPR

The Joint Personnel Recovery (JPR) Section of the EAG consists of 3 officers. It is headed by a Dutch OF-4. The section was created through a study on European CSAR capabilities and ever since, this topic dominates the work of it. However, in the meantime other related items fill the calendar of the section such as SERE School Commanding Officers’ meetings, Personnel Recovery (PR) Equipment Project Team work with the European Defence Agency and other exercises and conferences. Since the beginning of the CSAR project in 2001 the EAG became one of the few multinational military organizations to deal with this issue in order to harmonise the national efforts to further develop this capability in Europe. In doing this the EAG involves its 7 member nations as well as other NATO and PfP nations.
Since the “EAG CSAR Study” was released on 31 Oct 2001 the EAG has been concentrating its work into the field of Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR). Out of the “EAG CSAR Study” the “EAG CSAR Action Plan” was derived and released in June 2002.
