CSAR / PR Course

Through the VOLCANEX exercises 2002 to 2006, a requirement for individual training in the CSAR environment was identified. In order to provide such a training opportunity to the European CSAR community, a CSAR course was developed by the EAG.
The aim of this course is to enhance knowledge and proficiency required to execute a PR/ CSAR mission in a non permissive, international environment.
The first course was successfully conducted at the Tactical Leadership Program (TLP) facilities in FLORENNES, BELGIUM from 8 June to 21 June 2007 as a Combined Joint CSAR Standardisation Course (CJCSARSC 2007). A second iteration (CJCSARSC 2008) was scheduled from 1 to 15 May 2008, again at the TLP facilities in southern Belgium.
Considering the current employment of NATO’s forces and the shift towards Personnel Recovery (PR) operations (to include Combat Recovery) in general, a decision was taken to rename the course into ‘CJPRSC’ and to widen the focus of it into current PR operations (ISAF). The PR Course 2009 was conducted at CAZAUX Airbase (AB), FRANCE, from 9 to 23 September 2009. The CJPRSC 2010 was conducted at LECHFELD AB, GERMANY, from 15 to 29 September 2010.
The CJPRSC 2011 was held at the TLP facilities in Albacete Spain from 13 to 30 October 2011. The Initial Planning Conference was held on 18 Jan 11 at the EAG HQ. The Main Planning Conference was held in Spain during the Week 20-24 Jun 2011.
Pictures of the 2011 CJPRSC have been added and are available under this link.
In 2012, the 6th iteration of this unique in Europe Personnel Recovery course will take place at HOLZDORF Air Base, in Germany from 09 to 26 October 2012.
The IPC will be held the 19th of January at EAG premises, High Wycombe, UK.
