As part of a recent initiative in the Force Protection domain, the EAG hosted its first Counter Unmanned Air Vehicle (C-UAV) Seminar at RAF High Wycombe on 30 May. The Seminar was part of an EAG project to exchange information about UAV developments, threats and counter measures. This was the first opportunity for EAG nations to collectively discuss C-UAV procedures with specialists taking part from Belgium, France, Spain and the UK, along with Force Protection specialists from the EAG Permanent Staff. The conclusions of the Seminar are still being assessed, however, the EAG’s C-UAV work could offer significant benefits for the EAG nations and there is already support for expanding its scope further and including technological aspects. A second C-UAV Seminar is therefore being scheduled for later this year.
