EUROPEAN AIR GROUP DOBEX/VOLCANEX LIVEX 16
The European Air Group, a formal organization in which seven European Air Forces co-operate to increase interoperability and that celebrated its 21st anniversary on 27 June, organizes annual exercises under the name ‘VOLCANEX’, with the aim of testing, validating and refining its products.
This year’s VOLCANEX Force Protection Tactical Interoperability Exercise is going to be hosted by the German Air Force in conjunction with the German exercise DOBEX, which is a Deployed Operating Base (DOB) deployment exercise at Lechfeld Air Base, Germany from 17th to 29th October 2016.
This year the focus of VOLCANEX will be on Force Protection, Air Traffic Management, Medical and Communication Information Systems. The intent for DOBEX/VOLCANEX LIVEX 16 is to activate and operate a DOB in a low-medium threat environment; working with the same standards, doctrines and proving interoperability are all essential pillars for operational success. As of today, the seven EAG Nations and Norway announced an overall training audience of more than 400 Service personnel. The exercised AIR Capabilities will be in-line with NATO’s latest Allied Tactical Publication “NATO Force Protection Doctrine for Air Operations”.
A Distinguished Visitors Day will be hosted by the German Air Force on 26th October 2016.
