EAG attends the first Modular Combined Petroleum Unit Coordination Board Meeting – 5 May 2017

The EAG attended the first Modular Combined Petroleum Unit (MCPU) Coordination Board meeting in Brussels on 5 May 2017. During a Smart Defence Working Group, a requirement for a multinational capability to provide fuel support to NATO operations was identified and so France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States of America agreed to collectively provide their support to future NATO deployments.

The MCPU Coordination Board now looks to put this concept of multinational fuel support into practice by participating in future exercises such as Trident Juncture and is expected to meet again later in 2017 to discuss future plans and developments.
