Brigadier General Stefan Scheibl took over as the Deputy Director EAG on 12 July 2018, replacing his predecessor Air Commodore Robert Adang. During the Handover Ceremony in the EAG Headquarters at RAF High Wycombe in the UK, the Director EAG Lieutenant General Enzo Vecciarelli, who is also the Italian Air Force Air Chief, thanked Air Commodore Adang for his outstanding work and welcomed Brigadier General Scheibl to the EAG. In his leaving speech Air Commodore Adang praised the Permanent Staff and the EAG Air Forces for the considerable progress that has been achieved during his tenure. In his opening address, Brigadier General Scheibl, who has a fast jet background and extensive experience of air operations in the Luftwaffe, thanked the Director for the opportunity to become the Deputy Director He also expressed his appreciation to Air Commodore Adang for his work and said that he looked forward to the challenges ahead and working with the EAG Air Forces and the Permanent Staff.
As well as the Director and the Deputy Directors, the Ceremony was attended by Lieutenant General Luyt, the Air Chief of the Royal Netherlands Air Force, Major General Presicce of the Italian Air Force, the Italian Defence Attache to the UK, the Netherlands Air Attache to the UK and members of the EAG Permanent Staff. In accordance with EAG protocol, Brigadier General Scheibl is scheduled to hold the position of Deputy Director for the next two years.
