VTC (Video Tele Conferencing) is more and more used by civilian companies and administration as a mean to reduce travelling expenses. Its advantages over phone call are the possibility to see your correspondent and also to display graphics and presentations alongside video pictures. Moreover, most of the EAG Air Forces already have VTC at their disposal. However, there are different systems and protocols in use. To make VTC calls easier and quicker, there is a need to run trials and describe in detail the required procedures.
The final aim of this project is to have an interoperability manual listing all VTC systems in use by the Nations together with pre-tested procedures and settings required to make VTC calls. The added value of this project will be to allow the EAG Nations to set up a VTC link at short notice without having to check the feasibility each time because each configuration will have been tested beforehand during the Bench Tests. Moreover, such a project will not require any specific dedicated VTC network as the project will use existing devices and infrastructures.
